There are many ways in which to backup a computer, but which way is best for you? Many people don't even know that they can backup their computer online. The process is actually rather simple. You can sign up for a site that will either do it when you tell it to, i.e. you'd visit the site and run the backup program, or you could have it do it automatically. This would require you to download their software. Typically when you backup online you're backing up to a cloud.

What does it mean to backup computer online to a cloud? A cloud refers to a virtual location where files are stored. For example, Google Documents saves files to the cloud. They're there when you need them, but they're not stored on your computer. There are disadvantages to online services. Those who are very concerned about security may not feel comfortable having their files saved virtually.
